DH Lawrence Heritage Centre

DH Lawrence collected his father's wages from this building when it was the offices of the Barber, Walker Coal Company. Now restored, it houses exhibitions which include aspects of Lawrence's life, as well as reflecting Victorian life in the area.  

Visitor numbers to DH Lawrence Heritage for the last two years (2004 & 2005) have been around 27,500 per year.
